Now I know petitions work…

… after 300,000 customers signed the petition that disapproves, The Bank of America has now cancelled the $5.00 monthly charge on debit card accounts. ‘Bout time. Waiting to see how things turned out Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, SunTrust and Regions Financial have all pulled back on their plans.

“We have listened to our customers very closely over the last few weeks and recognize their concern with our proposed debit usage fee. As a result, we are not currently charging the fee and will not be moving forward with any additional plans to do so.”

– David Darnell, co-chief operating officer at Bank of America

So much for charging us to spend our own money.
