Grayson: If I wanted Fox talking points I’d change the channel to Fox, not listen to the White House…
Alan Grayson on Robert Gibbs: He should be fired.
“What George Orwell wrote about in 1984 has come true. What Eisenhower warned us about concerning the ‘military-industrial complex’ has come true. War is a permanent feature of our societal landscape, so much so that no one notices it anymore.”
– Alan Grayson (D – FL), as more money is demanded for the Pentagon.
…so he is proposing a new Bill called “The War Is Making You Poor Act”. Read about it in The Nation. See him introduce it in front of the House here:
Grayson is about 80% of the way to getting 100 signers to co-sponsor his “Medicare You Can Buy Into Act,” a stronger public option that would be available to everyone. Now that the basic Health Care plan has gone through, it’s time to start working on a public option for all Americans.
Here’s a clip… there’s much more:
The Representative from Florida presented his plan yesterday for the extension of Medicare as a Public Option. He makes so much sense.
Take a look:
Here’s a quick video of the Florida Democratic Representative taking on GOP Congressman Paul Broun of Georgia, who had introduced yet another amendment to deny all funding to ACORN.
Grayson is remarkable in the way he keeps control of his five minutes, even though the GOP tries to steal it. And I love how he sees himself:
“I don’t owe anything to anyone here. I don’t owe anything to lobbyists. I don’t owe anything to leadership. The only thing I owe to anybody is the well-being of 800,000 people who depend on me.”
This guy is going to go far, if we can keep him in Congress.
