Grayson: If I wanted Fox talking points I’d change the channel to Fox, not listen to the White House…

Alan Grayson on Robert Gibbs: He should be fired.

Quote For The Day – One of my favorite Congressmen sums it up.

“What George Orwell wrote about in 1984 has come true. What Eisenhower warned us about concerning the ‘military-industrial complex’ has come true. War is a permanent feature of our societal landscape, so much so that no one notices it anymore.”

– Alan Grayson (D – FL), as more money is demanded for the Pentagon.

…so he is proposing a new Bill called “The War Is Making You Poor Act”. Read about it in The Nation. See him introduce it in front of the House here:

“Audit the Fed” Passes Senate, 96-0

Here’s a clip from Jane Hamsher’s article in Firedoglake. I recommend going in and reading the whole thing.

The Senate just passed the Sanders amendment, Audit the Fed, by a vote of 96-0.

Though a weaker version than the Paul-Grayson bill that passed the House, the amendment calls for a thorough audit of the Federal Reserve from December, 2007 until the bill is signed into law. This period covers many of the Fed’s questionable activities during the bailouts that have so far been shielded from scrutiny.
I believe the success of the measure can be directly traced to the bipartisan coalition that came together to support Audit the Fed.
Nobody could pretend to be “principled” in opposition and take refuge in partisan politics — it would be clear that they were just covering up for the banks.
Tremendous credit goes to Alan Grayson. It was Grayson who decided to take up Ron Paul’s bill and bring Democratic support for it.
Under the radar, Grayson quietly got the number of cosponsors up to 330, which forced Barney Frank to deal with it on the Financial Services Committee.

Alan Grayson Needs Our Help…

Grayson is about 80% of the way to getting 100 signers to co-sponsor his “Medicare You Can Buy Into Act,” a stronger public option that would be available to everyone. Now that the basic Health Care plan has gone through, it’s time to start working on a public option for all Americans.

You can join the cause by calling your Representative. Go HERE for more info.

“Medicare You Can Buy Into”… I like that.

Check out the article reproduced in OpEd News that shows support for the Public Option through Reconciliation.

Here’s a clip… there’s much more:

Health care reform poised to pass; 41 senators support public option
The White House predicted today that the president’s health care
reform plan will pass the House this week and, in a related development,
even the public option is looking like a very real possibility.
Robert Gibbs, the president’s press secretary, warned Republicans
that if they make health care an issue in the November elections, “they
do so at their own peril.”
“Make my day,” senior White House political advisor David Axelrod
said. “Let’s have that fight. I’m ready to have that – and every member
of Congress ought to be willing to have that debate as well.”
As of today, meanwhile, 41 Senators had either signed or issued
statements of support for a letter to Majority Leader Harry Reid urging
passage of the Public Option through reconciliation.
The Public Option Act, as it is officially
named, is being called the Medicare You Can Buy Into Act by lawmakers.

I Love Alan Grayson…

The Representative from Florida presented his plan yesterday for the extension of Medicare as a Public Option. He makes so much sense.

Take a look:

Boy, I love Alan Grayson…

Here’s a quick video of the Florida Democratic Representative taking on GOP Congressman Paul Broun of Georgia, who had introduced yet another amendment to deny all funding to ACORN.

Grayson is remarkable in the way he keeps control of his five minutes, even though the GOP tries to steal it. And I love how he sees himself:

“I don’t owe anything to anyone here. I don’t owe anything to lobbyists. I don’t owe anything to leadership. The only thing I owe to anybody is the well-being of 800,000 people who depend on me.”

This guy is going to go far, if we can keep him in Congress.

The Immense Acumen of Alan Grayson

Representative Grayson is becoming wit of the Democratic Party… and is not taking crap from the Republicans. I can’t tell you how much I like this guy.

A quick sample of Grayson’s capabilities:

Spectacular!
