Over the past 12 days, the Obama administration has recklessly and unnecessarily chosen to approve two biotech crops, Roundup Ready genetically modified (GMO) alfalfa and Roundup Ready genetically modified (GMO) sugar beets. While the planting of both these crops had been temporarily halted due to court decisions, Obama’s recent approval of them will allow them to be planted as early as this spring, despite widespread acknowledgment that these crops are certain to contaminate both conventional and organic farmers‘ non-GMO crops. Their approval only benefits one company — Monsanto.

These decisions are a devastating blow to our democracy and the basic rights of farmers to choose how they want to grow food on their land and the rights of consumers who increasingly choose organic and sustainably grown food for its positive health and environmental impacts.

The Reason John Boehner is an Asshole…

clipped from www.huffingtonpost.com John (Asshole) Boehner WASHINGTON — House Speaker John Boehner says Americans have a right to think what they want to think, even when they are wrong about President Barack Obama‘s citizenship and his religion. Boehner tells NBC’s “Meet the Press” that he believes Obama was born in Hawaii and that the president is a Christian, and that those are facts. Some people believe that Obama was born outside the U.S. or in some other way is not a natural-born citizen eligible to be president. There is also a persistent belief among some that Obama is a Muslim. Boehner denies that he is willing to let those misperceptions remain because they weaken and delegitimize Obama. Asked why he doesn’t speak against such perceptions, Boehner says it’s not his job to tell Americans what to think.

Certainly, no Democrat would let such Bullcrap stand against a Republican. Boehner either has no need to make his Party seem intelligent, or he is carrying out a political ploy. Let’s hope it’s one of the many things that make his control of the House a short one.

For the second year in a row the CPAC Straw Poll gives the Presidency-hope to Ron Paul…

… and this is why the CPAC will NOT have an influence on the overall American eclectorate.

Ron Paul has got literally no chance of being nominated, much less elected President and CPAC calls attention to the real problems that Conservatives and, especially, Libertarians, have in relating to the American People. They do nothing to support the poor, nor do they have an ability to give us the kind of health care or social equality that we need.

It’s time to get on and find ways to support Obama‘s presidency and get him away from the military problems we have been strapped with… then apply that money to strengthening and improving the lot of ALL citizens.
