“Turn of the Screw” opens tonite at Full Circle

Turn of the Screw scene

We open a two weekend run of Turn Of The Screw tonite at Full Circle, which I’ve been watching for the past few nights from the light booth. This is an interesting adaptation of the Henry James spook story from the 19th Century, recreated as a two-character piece with the female character playing the Governess and the male character playing all the others – narrator, housekeeper, young boy, etc.

The description at Full Circle’s web site is pretty accurate:

The classic ghost story of a new governess in an isolated house, trying to make sense of the apparitions she sees – are they truly ghosts or just figments of her imagination? And what secrets of the past are her employer and his children hiding from her? Subtle, gripping, and thought-provoking, this is suspense crafted by a true master.

I’ll be making a 7:00 PM call tonite for an 8:00 PM curtain. If you’re near Shepherdstown, come on by.
